Our Kitchen Remodel

Hello, friends! 🏡✨ When we moved into our home, one thing was clear—I envisioned a complete kitchen remodel. While we initially considered tearing everything out and starting from scratch, we ultimately decided to preserve the existing cabinets and focus on key updates that would breathe new life into the space.

Keeping What Works

We opted to keep the original cabinets, which provided a solid foundation for our design. Instead, we upgraded all the appliances to modern, energy-efficient models, giving our kitchen a fresh and functional feel. One of the biggest changes we made was replacing the outdated tile floor with beautiful hardwood that matches the rest of our home, creating a seamless flow.

Lighting and Style

To enhance the ambiance, we swapped out the pendant lighting above the island for two stylish new fixtures. They not only brighten the space but also add a touch of elegance.

Stunning Backsplash

One of my favorite features is the full wall of backsplash we added behind the exterior door. I chose a gorgeous speckled trout tile from a local designer (I’ll update this with the name soon!) that adds texture and visual interest. It’s the perfect backdrop for our kitchen and truly ties everything together.

Custom Touches

We also worked with a local designer for custom window treatments that complement our style beautifully. Additionally, I repurposed the wall space to create extra storage and display areas for seasonal glass items—functionality meets aesthetics!

Adding a Pot Rack

On one wall, we installed a pot rack that I’m still working on filling with our favorite cookware. It’s a practical addition that keeps our pots and pans accessible while adding a rustic charm to the kitchen.

Cozy Banquette Seating

In an empty corner, we created a cozy banquette seating area, perfect for family meals or casual gatherings. It’s quickly become a favorite spot in our home!

Cherished Memories

One of my favorite elements of our kitchen is our wine cork collection. We write a memory associated with each bottle on the cork and display them in a shadow box. It’s a beautiful way to keep those cherished moments close while adding a personal touch to the decor.

Our kitchen remodel has transformed this space into a warm, inviting hub for family and friends. I can’t wait to share more updates as we continue to make our house a home.
